Apprentice of the Year Awards 2016

On Friday 22nd of April 2016, Graphic Enterprise Scotland held their first ever Apprentice of the Year Awards in The Lighthouse, Glasgow. The prize giving ceremony was conducted by James Vallance and sponsored by HP, Muller Martini and Maclay Murray and Spens. The day started with a brief outline of GES activity from our President, Graham Ellis of Charles Letts and the event was rounded off and closed with a few words of experience and wisdom from a past apprentice, Stephen Docherty, GES Vice President and Managing Director of Bell & Bain.

HR Services

HR Services Scotland will provide full HR support to all GES Members. This includes - free of charge to all members - an audit of all HR documentation, telephone and onsite support and legal indemnity insurance.

Health and safety

GES in conjunction with JTMS (Scotland) is offering all members a free one day gap analysis of your current Health & Safety practices.

Scottish Print Archival Trust

The Scottish Printing Archival Trust (SPRAT) was formed in 1988 to con­serve ‘know­ledge and examples of Scotland’s print­ing her­it­age for the bene­fit of the public and print/media education’. The Trust pro­motes interest in the his­tory of the Scottish print­ing industry, which is one of Scotland’s oldest. It does not hold any archival col­lec­tions itself, but works with vari­ous insti­tu­tions to ensure that print­ing archives are not lost.

Lobbying

In addition to the European Commission lobbying on legislation through Intergraf in Brussels, Graphic Enterprise Scotland are active members of CBI Scotland’s Trade Association Committee which is the UK's premier business lobbying organisation, providing a voice for employers at a national and international level.
